Experienced Large-Format Tile Installer Wanted – Tromsø, Norway

We are looking for a highly experienced and independent tile installer for a project in Tromsø, Norway. The work primarily involves the installation of large and thin ceramic tiles/slabs, so we are specifically looking for a specialist with documented experience in large-format installations.

This is not a position for a tile installer who has only worked with standard tile sizes. You must have hands-on experience installing large-format tiles and ceramic slabs where handling, precision, and finish are critical.

Responsibilities

Your work will include:

• Installation of large-format tiles on walls and floors
• Tiles measuring 120 × 120 cm
• Ceramic tiles/slabs measuring 120 × 240 cm or larger
• Thin large-format tiles approximately 6 mm thick
• Measuring, planning, fitting, and cutting
• Safe transportation, lifting, and handling of large tiles/slabs
• Inspection and preparation of substrates
• Application of adhesive with correct and full coverage
• Precise installation, grouting, and finishing
• Independent quality control of completed work

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must:

• Have at least 5 years of documented experience working with large-format tiles
• Have hands-on experience with tiles/slabs measuring 120 × 240 cm or larger
• Have experience working with thin tiles approximately 6 mm thick
• Be able to safely handle, lift, cut, and install large-format tiles
• Be able to work independently and plan your own workday
• Be precise, quality-conscious, and solution-oriented
• Be able to document relevant experience through your CV, references, and/or photos from previous projects

General tiling experience without documented large-format experience is not sufficient for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

It is particularly advantageous if you have:

• 7–15 years of experience working with large-format tiles
• Experience with ceramic slabs larger than 120 × 240 cm
• Completed full projects involving thin large-format ceramic slabs
• Worked independently throughout the entire process, from substrate inspection to final installation
• References or a project portfolio demonstrating previous large-format work

Employment Conditions

• Location: Tromsø, Norway
• Position: Full-time
• Start: By agreement
• Salary: Based on documented skills and experience
• Candidates with approximately 7–15 years of relevant large-format tile experience can normally expect a salary of around NOK 300–320 per hour
