Project Engineer to Akkodis!

About the Role:

Akkodis is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team for a long-term consulting assignment with one of our key clients operating at the forefront of energy transmission technologies. You will be part of a dynamic system design division, working in cross-functional project teams responsible for the electrical design of advanced HVDC converter stations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct harmonic-related studies up to ~15 kHz for HVDC systems.
• Evaluate harmonic power quality compliance and perform small-signal stability analyses in the harmonic range.
• Propose and assess mitigation strategies such as active/passive harmonic filters and dampers.
• Analyze harmonic stress on main circuit components and assess design adequacy or the need for mitigation.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools using Excel, MATLAB, or Python to support study efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers—presenting findings and aligning on solutions.
• Produce professional technical reports that clearly document study results and engineering recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of electrical power systems and major equipment (e.g., transformers, converters, filters).
• Experience in frequency domain modeling and harmonic analysis.
• Practical problem-solving approach with an engineering mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a project team.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills in English.

The position is based in Ludvika and consultants are expected to be on-site full-time for the first 6 months (remote/hybrid arrangement possible after review).
