Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom. It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.

We are participating in a project where Stegra AB establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing.

We now want to employ Piping helpers. The work tasks may include but are not limited to:

Job Description

The Piping Helper assists piping fitters and piping crews in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of piping systems and mechanical equipment. The role involves supporting daily site activities by preparing materials, handling tools, and assisting with basic installation tasks while ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist piping fitters in the installation and assembly of piping systems, valves, and related mechanical components.

· Support the preparation and handling of pipes, fittings, and installation materials at the work site.

· Carry, position, and secure pipes, tools, and equipment as directed by the piping fitter or supervisor.

· Assist with measuring, cutting, and cleaning pipes and components using appropriate tools and equipment.

· Help install pipe supports, brackets, and other structural components required for piping systems.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safe and efficient operations.

· Assist with routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks when required.

· Follow instructions from the Piping Foreman, Team Leader, or Supervisor during installation and maintenance activities.

· Ensure compliance with company safety policies, site regulations, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Support the piping team in meeting project schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications (not mandatory)

· Basic knowledge of mechanical or construction work is preferred.

· Previous experience as a construction helper or mechanical helper is an advantage but not always required.

· Willingness to learn piping installation and mechanical work practices.

· Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
